  • CLASSIC FILM SERIES

  • On 10th June, we will be watching the second Marx Brother comedy film classic released in 1930. Starring Starring Groucho Marx, Chico Marx, Harpo Marx, Zeppo Marx, and Margaret Dumont. Call the library at 294-7506 for more details.

  • On 22th July, we will be watching the classic H.G. Wells story of a Martian invasion. This film was the winner of the 1953 Academy Award for Best Special Effects. Call the library at 294-7506 for more details.

  • On 12th August, we will be screening a 1941 classic directed by Howard Hawks, starring Gary Cooper, about a real-life country lad drafted to fight during World War I but troubled by his pacifist religious belief. Call the library at 294-7506 for more details.

  • All movies start at 1:30pm, popcorn and drinks will be provided. Bring your family to watch these classic films.
     
  • BOOK TO FILM

  • On 8th and 15th June from 11:30am-1:00pm.

    Frank McCourt's haunting memoir recounting experience of an Irish immigrant from his impoverished childhood in Depression-era Brooklyn, New York and Limerick, Ireland. The author remembers his wayward yet adoring father who was forever drinking what little money the family had. He recounts the painful loss of his siblings to avoidable sickness and hunger, a proud mother reduced to begging for charity, and the stench of the sewage-strewn streets that ran outside the front door.

    John Grisham's 2005 legal thriller offers a clever, compelling plot about a precocious eleven year old client and a street-smart lawyer. Both were caught in a ruthless game between the Mob and the amoral legal authorities.
