USB device's portability, low price, and accessibility have made this storage device format very popular. Unfortunately, these same factors have also made this tool a potential threat to computer security. USB devices can be used deliberately or unwittingly to transfer malicious software from computer to computer. We have installed anti-malware programs to protect our computers and your USB device while attached to a library computer from KNOWN malware threats, but this is NOT a 100% guarantee. The library does not currently prohibit the use of USB devices on our public use computers , but we urge caution in order to protect your data and the integrity of library computers.
